AS a child star, Xu Jiao is lucky. Her big screen debut (初次亮相) was in Stephen Chow’s 2008 movie CJ7. The role won her the “Best New Performer” award at the Hong Kong Film Awards. Now the 14-year-old is back with her latest work Starry Starry Night (《星空》).

Xu is the leading actress in the movie that is set to open on November 3. Based on a comic book by famous Taiwan artist Jimmy Liao, it tells the story of a teenage girl growing up.
